One of the biggest perks of learning Spanish with See it and Say it, is that every new Spanish word you learn is already meaningful. The photos give a stark visual, and typically SOME sort of reaction in the student's brain, creating a sort of connection to the sound of the word that just reading it doesn't. Some students imagine an item when they read a word, but some don't - the photos help to make the absorption process that much faster, more efficient, and thus more effective for long term memory.
So - what does that have to do with Thanksgiving? I'll tell you!
This phrase: "Yo doy gracias por..."
I give thanks for...
(The phonetics is just like the words, so go for it!)
Gives meaning to EVERY SINGLE NOUN you can think of! The student ALREADY has an emotion. Use SpanishDict.com to look up every single noun you can imagine. I'm super excited for you to let me know allll the new words you learn as you pop those words up on your árbol de gracias!
It's simple - cut out leaf shapes.

Here are some GREAT homemade Thanksgiving Tree examples (in English!) And then a video for you as well.
Some thankful trees are big, some are small! You can use your child's hand to make the tree trunk, or the leaves. Some moms even use an actual tree, or branches from the yard! (Very Charlotte Mason!)
HOWEVER you do it, this is a SUPER easy way to add Spanish to your week of holiday, being grateful for all the blessings in your life.
