As always, I say - GO READ THE BOOK. (If the 6 volumes are too overwhelming... because they sort of ART, I have a few suggestions.)
The best Charlotte Mason books are in my opinion... (in this order)
Catherine Levison's Charlotte Mason Handbook
Karen Andreola's Chartlotte Mason Companion
...followed by anything by Simply Charlotte Mason
You might be a Charlotte Mason homeschooler if your children spend time outdoors most days, you reach for quality books instead of textbooks, you ask your child to “tell it back” after reading, and you value attention and habits as much as academics. Basically, if your homeschool feels more like a rich, thoughtful life than a checklist of assignments, you’re likely already practicing many of her principles!
The Charlotte Mason approach to homeschooling has remained popular for over a century because it focuses on educating the whole child.

Charlotte Mason described education as “an atmosphere, a discipline, and a life.” This means children learn from their home environment, develop strong habits like attention and responsibility, and engage with meaningful ideas rather than just memorizing facts.
A central feature of her method is the use of living books—well-written, engaging texts that bring subjects to life. Instead of worksheets or dry textbooks, children read stories, biographies, and rich narratives.
Then we use narration, retelling what the kids (and I!) have learned in our own words. This builds comprehension, memory, and communication skills without relying on fill in the blanks or multiple choice quizzes or tests.
Your curriculum choice is intentionally broad, including nature study, art, music, poetry, history, geography, and foreign languages. The best part, I think, is that lessons are kept short to encourage full attention, and habit formation is emphasized over rewards or punishments.
Finally, or maybe I should have said this FIRST... Charlotte Mason believed that children are born persons who deserve respect and exposure to great ideas. They're not "becoming someone." They are already someone RIGHT NOW.
Turns out that my program, See it and Say it Flip Flop Spanish already fit naturally into the CM approach because it offers SHORT, simple, engaging, and easy-to-follow content that supports consistent exposure and habit-building in a gentle, enjoyable way.
