Summer Reading - How to find awesome Foreign Language books

Señora Gose's Go -To Book List for Spanish Practice. (aff links exist here. So if you click through and purchase, I might get a few pennies towards my own growing Spanish book hoard for me to read to you on the Spanish Geniuses Website as well.)

How do you find YOUR best books for learning? Well, if you have a favorite childhood classic that you've memorized in English, the likelihood of you (and your family) understanding it in your second language is VERY high. Do a search of that book, add "en español" or whatever language you're looking for, and type the title into the search bar youtube or amazon, or whatever bookseller you like to use most. Maybe, just MAYBE someone has translated it!

If not, here's a list of some of my favorites. I have about 2 dozen on there now, and will continue to add them throughout the summer.

I love ALL the Mo Willems Books with Elephant and Piggie. They are simple to read, can illustrate all SORTS of grammar points in a fun, X+1 way, and have just a few words per page. They are WONDERFUL. I have a few videos in

Dr. Seuss's books are also really fun, but sometimes have made up words that can cause confusion, and you can't quite get that same whimsical lilting rhythm in the translation, but One Fish Two Fish is good, as well as Green Eggs and Ham, and The Original Cat in the Hat!

In addition to the reading books, you'll see a few coloring books listed there, and that's exactly how I designed Tiago and Bella - to be a HANDS-ON reader - with the glossary in the middle, and the stories accessible in both languages, but not in your face! That video will be posted this week (well TONIGHT!) as well!

If you can't find these being read anywhere on the web, I'm adding them slowly each week on SpanishGeniuses for the summer of 2023, and will add homework packets as well for my Spanish Geniuses Juniors Students. Use the Search Bar - maybe it's there now!
